Week 1 | ALEC American Legislative Exchange Council is a nonprofit organization of conservative state legislators and private sector representatives that drafts and shares model state-level legislation for distribution among state governments in the United States.
Model Legislatives
Oppossed to ALEC: Through the corporate-funded American Legislative Exchange Council, global corporations and state politicians vote behind closed doors to try to rewrite state laws that govern your rights. These so-called "model bills" reach into almost every area of American life and often directly benefit huge corporations.
CCA: Corrections Corporation of America a company that owns and manages private prisons and detention centers and operates others on a concession basis. As of 2015, the company is the largest private corrections company in the United States. It manages more than 65 correctional and detention facilities with a capacity of more than 90,000 beds in 19 states and the District of Columbia. The company’s revenue in 2012 exceeded $1.7 billion.

The structure of a constitution often has these three parts: preamble, bill of rights, and seperation of powers. For statehood, you need the three items above in addition to bein approved by congress.
