ALEC American Legislative Exchange Council is a nonprofit organization of conservative state legislators and private sector representatives that drafts and shares model state-level legislation for distribution among state governments in the United States.

Model Legislatives

Oppossed to ALEC: Through the corporate-funded American Legislative Exchange Council, global corporations and state politicians vote behind closed doors to try to rewrite state laws that govern your rights. These so-called "model bills" reach into almost every area of American life and often directly benefit huge corporations.

CCA: Corrections Corporation of America a company that owns and manages private prisons and detention centers and operates others on a concession basis. As of 2015, the company is the largest private corrections company in the United States. It manages more than 65 correctional and detention facilities with a capacity of more than 90,000 beds in 19 states and the District of Columbia. The company’s revenue in 2012 exceeded $1.7 billion.

Arizona SB 1070: 2010 legislative Act in the U.S. state of Arizona that at the time of passage in 2010 was the broadest and strictest anti-illegal immigration measure in a long time. With a decision anticipated by the U.S. Supreme Court decision in the SB 1070 case, Gov. Jan Brewer issued an executive order stressing law-enforcement training in enforcing the law.

Brewer just released the executive order on SB1070, the controversial law signed by Brewer in April 2010, making it the broadest and strictest anti-illegal immigration measure in recent U.S. history.
